Season 4 Episode 26: Mind That Bike

We made it to the end of season/series 4. I am actually a little glad. Season 4 isn't one of my favorites pre-HIT era but, I made it. Let's wrap this one up.

Today we meet Tom Tipper, the best postman on Sodor. He has a pretty awesome little ride.

Seriously, I can watch a whole episode of Tom Tipper's van just driving around.

Tom is your typical postman, he gathers the mail from the trains and stuffs it in the correct mailbox 56% of time. But, Tom does something a little extra besides giving you bills, he helps unload the mail trains.

Thomas and Percy thank Tom for being so helpful and call him a "very useful postman."

It's nothing, I just don't have anyone who loves me to come home to.

Tom mentions that his number one is his van. (Well, it is rather sweet. It reminds me a little of the Jeepers Creeper truck.)

Maybe Tom is the creeper?

One day, Tom wasn't there.  ( ^My Theory ^) Instead some replacement postman (Tim Topper) was there. And to Percy's horror he did not help with loading the bags. He just left them on the platform.

You're a horrible person Tim Topper.

The crew and Percy question the lost of Tom Tipper. His driver points out that replacement is about to go postal over having to deliver the mail on bike.

The next morning, Tom is back from his creeper activities. Tom explains that he can no longer help load the mail anymore. The man has decided that his van is too expensive and he must use a bicycle now. It is way too time consuming to help.

Percy was upset by this and wanted to help Tom out. But, he is an engine he really can't do much being stuck to the rails.

Tom was about to leave when a man orders Tom to see The Fat Controller. Tom needs to sign some paper for him. That's when Tom does the stupidest or the smartest thing ever. He leans his bike against Percy's train.

I smell a conspiracy theory.

Percy cries at Tom to gather his bike but, it was too late Tom had already gone to the office to sign his life away. Percy's driver starts Percy up and the bike ends up under the train crushed.

Pronounced dead at 03:53.

Percy apologizes to Tom. But, Tom deep down doesn't really care. He had successfully got rid of the bike.

The next day, Tom is in a way better mood while waiting for Percy. Turns out Tom has gotten his way. The postal service has given him a brand new van.

Percy is thrilled that in a way he helped. Yep, in a breaking the government's equipment kind of way.

Moral of the story, if you don't like something, break it and get a better replacement.
